They’re tough but fair and you’ll leave each session completely satisfied that you’ve had a damn good workout. But, we don’t just train you hard for the sake of it. Our programs take a lot of thought, are influenced by the best styles in the world and are always designed with the future in mind. We want to constantly challenge your body, encouraging it to adapt and then we look for ways to challenge you again with our intimate knowledge of anatomy, physiology and exercise physiology at the fore. Every time you turn up for a session you won’t know what to expect. Every session is different, so getting bored is never an issue with us.
This may all seem very intense, and from a training point it is, but don’t worry we’re not. We don’t shout, we don’t chastise and we don’t kill your enjoyment. Our style and the workouts are all the intensity you’ll need.

Our sessions are high intensity (whatever that may be for you) and this is what your workouts need to be to get truly fit. Do you think athletes go to the gym and jog on a treadmill for 30 minutes at the same pace? No because it wouldn’t get them fit. So, why do so many gym clients do exactly this? You, like an athlete, want to be in the best shape possible so why train so differently from those that know best.
So many trainers and gyms don’t get how exercise can assist in fat loss. Low intensity cardio simply won’t do it. You’ll burn as many calories doing a thirty-minute run than you’ll consume in a couple of pieces of toast. Does that make sense to you? Certainly doesn’t to us. So, why not do exercise sessions that have you burning body fat for days after your sessions plus burn more session during each session than you’ll have ever done before. We’ll show you how.
This only happens once two things happen; you lose the fat on top of the muscle and you change the shape of the muscle itself. Easy right, but how? High intensity strength circuits is how. They focus on strength exercises but are done in a way that gets your heart rate up and burn energy, lots of energy.
Every exercise we do is movement based. This means no strength exercises that require you to sit on your derrière. They simply don’t make sense. Our equipment is sourced from all around the world and it encourages your body to move and be trained in the way nature intended.
Our sessions are structured to maximise your work out time. We understand how your body works, and we certainly will make you work.
The two main options in the fitness industry are cheap gyms and expensive personal trainers. The problem is both are generally really poor value for money. Gyms have no service, no idea about programming and trainers that are not up to scratch. Personal trainers are generally undereducated and limited in their abilities. We constantly hear stories from our new clients who’ve had disappointing experiences. Every session is the same, trainers give bad advice (I could tell you some doozies!) and the reliability is unprofessional. Once again we are breaking the mould.
We’re offering small group sessions – capped at eight people – with expert trainers. So, you don’t pay anywhere near personal training rates but you get a service and training regime that is far superior to what gyms can offer. You’ll train with like-minded people, who are working towards similar goals to you, who’ll inspire you and spur you on.
We test you at regular intervals to ensure you’re enjoying your training and getting the most out of your workouts.
The mentality of gym training has always struck me as a bit odd. You rock up for a session, train hard and then go home. But, have you had a good workout. How would you know? It’s the reason so many of us give up training. We don’t see any ongoing improvements. We’ve come up with a way to counter this. Our benchmark workouts (BMW’s) are designed so that at their completion you get a score. This score generally indicates the difficulty level of the workout you’ve chosen and then your performance. These are tough workouts but our clients love their challenge and the fact that they get a result. Then the next time when that BMW comes around they can gauge how far their fitness and strength has come. And, hey if you’re a little competitive you can see how you compare to the rest of the DKFS clients. You’ll do one of our Big BMW’s every fortnight and the sessions in between will involve mini BMW’s and freestyle workouts (workouts without a score but all of the intensity).
Our studio is fitted out with the best equipment to make sure you get the best workouts.
Thanks to Damien’s media work he has had the luxury of being one of the first to try most of the new equipment that hits the fitness market. He then puts each piece through its paces to see whether it passes the grade. The studio is a culmination of all this testing. Only the world’s best equipment will pass muster. The rules are it must be tough, it must allow you to follow natural whole-body movement patterns and it must encourage great resultsl. You’ll note the studio has no treadmills or large single plane weight machines. Many gyms still follow training philosophies from thirty years ago. The science has come a long way and we now know there are better ways to get fit and strong. A piece of equipment should challenge your whole body to work in synergy.

All our trainers are the handpicked because they have what it takes. In most cases they’ve been to University to study Exercise Science.
That’s three years full-time study so that you’re assured you’re in safe hands and maximising every second you spend exercising. You should expect nothing less. We don’t.
To become a personal trainer in the fitness industry you are required to only do an eight-week course. Many aspiring trainers do it by correspondence. Now, if you went to get your wisdom teeth out and the dentist said to you “Rest easy, you’re in safe hands, I learnt how to do these online eight weeks ago”, would you be a little worried? I dare say you just said yes. I hope so. Now, when you go to a trainer, who’s job it is to push your entire body as hard as it can handle, do you feel safe in the knowledge they’re only spent eight-weeks learning their trade. What other trade works like this?
But, just because they’ve been to uni doesn’t mean they’re a good trainer, far from it. We generally interview 20-30 people every time we are looking to recruit one new trainer. Sometimes we don’t find anyone because once again we won’t compromise. You deserve the best help and trainers that know their stuff, who are passionate and who inspire you to be in the best shape you can.
